CSM Seminar - No one-size fits all – Marketing strategy implications for online and sharing economy companies in the Middle East

As part of our CSM Spring Seminar Series, Dr Mohamed Hassan (Temerak) presented a number of case studies on sharing economy companies from Egypt and revealed the dynamics of business models in the Middle East.

Mohamed is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing Analytics at Surrey Business School (SBS), where he joined in 2021. Prior to SBS, he was a Lecturer in Marketing Analytics at Kent Business School (2019-2021). He was also an Associate Professor of Marketing at Cairo University (2016-2019).

Mohamed's research has been published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Service Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Business Research, and European Sport Management Quarterly. Mohamed has also received many awards (e.g. the “Best Article Finalist Award” for his Journal of Service Research article in 2012). His work has also won the best paper in track in the British Academy of Marketing Conference in 2018.

As a market researcher, Mohamed has been actively engaged in several consultancy projects with many companies in Egypt and the Gulf region, across a wide range of industries: construction, pharmaceutical, shopping malls/parks and financial brokerage.
