George is a Research Associate in Machine Learning and Optimisation, specialising in multi-objective decision making and decision support.
Previous projects include developing a PID based approach to dynamically suggest intervention levels for controlling disease spread and creating a multi-objective optimisation framework to analyse and improve railway timetabling. Work from this framework has been presented at GECCO 2026 conference and at EURO 2025, developing a genetic based approach for robust demand balanced railway routing and an investigation into multi-objective scalarisation techniques for combinatorial problems.
He is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) attained tough his role as a graduate teaching assistant along side his PhD studies at Swansea University.
