Dr Humera Ansari

MEng Hons, PhD, AFHEA

  • Doctoral Prize Fellow

Background:

Humera Ansari is a Doctoral Prize Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University. Her research is focused on characterising novel porous adsorbents under representative conditions, in the context of carbon capture and storage. Specifically, she is investigating the effect of humidity on binary separation processes.

Previously, she completed her PhD on carbon storage in shales and a postdoc on the sustainable production of blue hydrogen at Imperial College London. Prior to this, she worked in the energy and renewables industries as a process engineer for a few years.

Qualifications:

  • PhD, Imperial College London
  • MEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London

Key awards:

  • Postdoc and Fellows Development Centre Reps Individual Award, Imperial College London
  • Townend prize for PhD, Imperial College London
  • PhD Student Contribution & Citizenship Award, Imperial College London

Outline of main research interests:

  • High-pressure adsorption measurements and modelling
  • Adsorption kinetics
