Research and expertise
I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BSc in Physics (2019) and an MSc in Energy Engineering with Industrial Management (2020), and I joined the ERBE CDT EPSRC programme in the autumn of 2020.
Having completed work placements in various parts of energy engineering with companies such as E.ON UK, EDF and AmcoGiffen, I have developed a passion for understanding the complexity of energy systems. My MSc project focussed on the use of agent-based modelling techniques to simulate a district heat network, which set the basis for my continued research into the dynamic modelling of multi-vector energy and heating systems.
Current research activity
- PhD student – ERBE CDT – multi-carrier energy systems
Recently completed research projects
- District scale modelling of district heating using agent-based modelling techniques
I am actively seeking practical experience on projects relating to the sustainable development of energy systems, distribution and storage, particularly in multi-carrier systems.
I am excited to learn more about making energy more sustainable for future generations, and I have a great desire to ensure the world's energy demands are met in a low-carbon, responsible and safe way.
My interest in engineering extends beyond the academic field, as a co-founder and director of an innovative digital start-up, I am interested in the commercial and industrial impacts of academic work in this area. The proposed PhD project aims to expand the work previously completed on heat integration, scaling the work from the micro-environment (e.g. appliance-level) to the macro-environment (e.g. regional network level).
