Workshop

Take some time out for yourself over lunchtime to take part in a mindful workshop, connecting to nature.

About the workshop

Come and immerse yourselves in a mindful workshop and get hands on with natural materials. You will explore botanical drawings using a variety of materials and inks made by natural dyes. You will also get introduced to modifiers on natural dyed textiles to expand colour palette.

No prior experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.

About the artist

Theodora Prassa is a Greek artist, and educator based in Nottingham. Her practice spans across different formats and includes printmaking, mixed-media, digital image, and textiles. Her research focuses on sustainability, developing natural dye recipes for art and design students and enhancing curriculum design.

She has previous professional experience in curatorial and educational roles in art galleries in Greece, Germany and England. She has an active artistic presence, and had her work exhibited nationally and internationally in various exhibitions and festivals.

Creative Health Series

This workshop is part of LU Arts’ Creative Health Series for staff and postgraduate students. Curated by Gussi Philippou, this is a year-long journey of six workshops led by artists from different creative backgrounds and will culminate in an exhibition. Over the year, we’ll explore how creative practices can boost health and wellbeing through three core themes: Flow Theory, Community and Sustainability.
