Join us in Burleigh Wood for a festive walk and special performances.

About the event

We are delighted to bring back Christmas in the Wood this year, a popular event previously delivered by the University’s Gardens Team. Join us for a festive walk in the University’s very own wood. As we make our way along a short circular route, there will be seasonal poetry and music performances by the University Choir and music scholar for 2025-26 Cath Phillips. Anglican Chaplain Angela Tarry will lead a short reflection, and our Arts Collection Curator David Bell will give a short talk. We’ll also decorate a tree with handmade decorations (made from natural materials).

A glass of non-alcoholic mulled punch and a mince pie will be served by a firepit at the start of the event to keep everyone warm before we get moving!

This event is outdoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather, including suitable footwear. In the event of bad weather and a change of plans or cancellation of the event, we will contact people who have booked via email or phone. Notices will also be put up at the entrance to Burleigh Wood and at the bottom of the path from Holwell Car park to the wood.
