Alum Fraser set to take on huge challenge

In April, Fraser Arnott (Sports Science with Management BSc, 2016) and friend Conor Mchale will take on an extraordinary endurance challenge: running seven marathons in seven consecutive days, finishing with the London Marathon.

Fraser’s “7-in-7” challenge will see him complete six solo marathons before joining thousands of runners on the streets of London for his final 26.2 miles. This will be for two causes close to Fraser and Conor, Brain Tumour Research and Tommy's.

The pair are operating under the team name, "The Softest Geezers".

Fraser, who now works in digital advertising, has always been motivated by community impact and wanted to use this project to shine a light on organisations he feels deserve greater visibility. He hopes the challenge will encourage conversation, inspire others to take on their own goals, and show what can be achieved through collective support.

Reflecting on the challenge, Fraser said:

"Loughborough played a big part in shaping my mindset around resilience and teamwork. This project brings together those values, and I’m proud to use it to highlight causes that really matter."

The challenge begins on 19 April and will run for seven days, concluding with the London Marathon on 26 April. Follow their progress on Instagram.
