Over 80 alumni and guests enjoyed a day of athletics on Sunday 18 May at the Loughborough campus.

Alumni accompanied hundreds of spectators at the LIA meet, which was held at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium. Several alumni athletes also competed in the events, continuing their legacy at Loughborough.

Professional athletes, including Katarina Johnson-Thompson who won heptathlon silver in Paris last summer, were in attendance alongside Loughborough sport scholars. Contributions from alumni allow athletes to engage in these events and progress within their athletic careers.

International athletes Olivia Breen and Thomas Young also participated in the fixture, competing in the Women’s Para Long Jump and the Men’s Para 100m, respectively.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to welcome alumni back to campus, allowing them to reminisce on their time studying at the University as well as networking with others.
