Volunteers’ Week 2025: Thank you to our alumni!

A shot of room filled with people at Talk Sport Conference 2025.

From 2 - 8 June it’s Volunteers’ Week. We’re celebrating the incredible alumni who have supported Loughborough and its students over the past year.

There have been almost 200 alumni volunteering since June 2024. They have taken part in a variety of activities, offering guest lectures, mentoring, and career guidance that played a key role in supporting student development.

Earlier in the year we appointed six new Global Alumni Ambassadors. These ambassadors have worked closely with the University and alumni communities to strengthen connections and support networks across the globe. They join a number of other ambassadors around the world.

We launched a Lunch with a Leader series, welcoming alumni volunteers alumna Helen Bierton (Banking Director at Llyods Bank) and Rob Moran (a Partner at PwC). They shared their time and expertise with students.

Over 20 alumni volunteered at the 2025 Talk Sport Conference, sharing their knowledge and career experiences with over 500 students. They spoke on a wide range of topics including sports coaching, nutrition, media, psychology, and leadership. Their engagement provided valuable support for students considering careers in sport.

In addition, Loughborough’s Alumni Advisory Board has helped to keep alumni connected with the University. With more than 20 members, they’ve supported events, shared ideas, and worked to keep alumni involved with the University’s plans.

Thank you to all our alumni who have volunteered this year. Interested in getting involved? Please get in touch with the Alumni Relations team.
