Triumph for alumni in the StudyUK Alumni Awards

Five alumni have achieved success in being recognised in the prestigious British Council StudyUK Alumni Awards.

The annual awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of alumni overseas to showcase the impact and value of a UK higher education.

There are four main award categories: Science and Sustainability, Culture and Creativity, Social Action, and Business and Innovation.

Two outstanding alumnae have been announced as global finalists.

Una Hong, from South Korea, has been announced as a global finalist in the Culture and Creativity Award category, whilst Mruga Gurjar, who lives in Sweden, is a global finalist in the Science and Sustainability Award category. Winners of these awards will be announced over the summer.

There has been further success in several countries as three alumni have been recognised as regional finalists. In the Culture and Creativity category, Tariq Alrimawi and Ashley Stewart have been announced as regional finalists in Jordan and Nigeria, respectively. Dr Mahendra Gooroochurn is a regional finalist in Mauritius in the Science and Sustainability Award category.
