Alumna is keynote speaker at LGBT+ History Month event
Former student Lisa Vine gave an insightful talk at an online event held as part of the University’s programme to celebrate LGBT+ History Month.
The event on 23 February 2021 was attended by students, staff and alumni and chaired by staff member and graduate, David Wilson.
Lisa talked openly about her time at Loughborough which included feeling a sense of belonging when joining the LGBT Association, meeting her best friends and being the Chair of the LSU LGBT Association.
The alumna gave an insight into her career path which has included working as a Parliamentary Researcher at the House of Commons, when same sex marriage was first debated in parliament, and working on a BBC Children in Need project at the Leicester LGBT centre supporting trans and non-binary young people, a role which she said was the best job she ever had.
Lisa graduated with a degree in Sociology in 2009.
