University prizes via nomination

Mavis Stone Prize for Music

A prize to the value of £250.

About the Mavis Stone Prize for Music

A prize, to the value of £250, to be awarded annually to a student who has been receiving music tuition under the auspices of the university for more than one year, and who is judged to have achieved the greatest improvement in their music. Loughborough University music tutors will be invited to nominate one person who in their view has achieved the greatest improvement. A small assessment panel will consider all nominations and choose a winner.

When considering nominations, the assessor panel will look to increase the financial impact of the Prize, by paying particular attention to those cases where an individual might be experiencing difficulty meeting the cost of their music tuition.

Please be advised nominations for this prize are now open and will close on Friday 22nd of May 2026. A link to this form can be found below.
