We accept a range of qualifications from Sri Lanka for students opting for an Undergraduate course including A levels, Sri Lanka A Levels, the IB Diploma and HNDs.
Full details of entry requirements for A-levels can be found in our prospectus. Sri Lankan GCE A Levels are treated on a like for like basis with UK A Levels.
International Baccalaureate applicants with a minimum of 32 points in the IB Diploma will be considered for direct admission to undergraduate degree programmes. As with A-levels, entry grades will vary from course to course.
Applicants with an HND qualification may be considered for entry. HND qualifications are evaluated on the same basis as the British HND.
The International Office can also suggest other suitable foundation programmes which will be considered for entry to other subject areas.
A Bachelor Special or a Professional degree in a relevant subject from a recognised university, a postgraduate institute or another higher education institute, or a Masters degree in the same or a related field of study, will normally be required. Overall grades of A or B (First Class or Upper Second Class Honours) should have been achieved. For research study a Masters qualification is usually needed. Potential applicants should see the Postgraduate pages for further details of appropriate subject requirements and any acceptable alternative entry requirements.

Pre-sessional English Language tuition is available for those applicants whose scores in English Language fall slightly below that normally expected for entry. See our English Language Study Unit for more information.
