One of the best pieces of advice I’d give to new students is to put yourself out there. Talk to people, attend hall socials and join societies. Everyone is nervous in the first week, but everyone wants to make friends. The events during Freshers are a great way to start and they really help you feel part of the community. I wish I had gone to more hall socials in my first year because they’re such a good way to meet people.
I chose Economics because I’ve always been interested in how economies work and how decisions shape markets. Having studied A-level Maths and Economics, I knew this was the right path for me. Loughborough stood out because of its reputation and the resources it offers – from academic support to placement opportunities that help you prepare for your career.
For me, university isn’t just about getting a degree; it’s about building the foundation for the future and Loughborough has given me everything I need to make the progress I want to see.
