Pursuing a Psychology with Criminology degree at Loughborough has entailed exploring numerous engaging modules to enhance my understanding of the human brain, alongside accompanying thoughts and behaviours.

As a joint honours student, my psychology modules encompass topics such as cognitive psychology, which delve into the knowledge behind how people think. Meanwhile, my criminology modules exploring topics such as the criminal justice system in England and Wales, provide a unique insight into the causes, consequences and prevention of criminal behaviour.

Without a doubt, undertaking the ‘Year in Enterprise’ scheme during my placement year has been one of the best decisions I have made during my time at Loughborough.

During my Year in Enterprise I launched my independent production company Jamie Clark Productions with my debut documentary The Elephant’s Cry – showcasing the widely unknown truth behind the Asian Elephant tourism industry.

My decision to undertake a year in enterprise stemmed from a deeply engrained personal mission to educate, engage and inspire generations across the world to act in response to social and global issues – with my ultimate vision being to form a better future for all.

In recognition of my work during my ‘Year in Enterprise’ I won a 'Placement and Internship Award' from the University. Receiving such a prestigious award has motivated me to continue striving for excellence in my career as I continue in my mission to educate, engage and inspire generations across the world to act in response to social and global issues.

I am indebted and forever grateful to the Loughborough Enterprise Network team for all the support and guidance they have provided me with during my entrepreneurial journey so far.

The support and advice I have received has included: exclusive investment opportunities - enabling me to acquire over £5,000 in equity free investment; advice on securing trademark protection for my business; 1-1 business consultation sessions; networking opportunities; financial advice; access to exclusive co-working spaces; and training sessions on how to setup a business and develop effective elevator pitches.

As a documentary filmmaker I help NGOs, IGOs and charities overcome social and global issues through free to view documentaries and series that uncover widely unknown issues and generate revenue through advertisements, licensing & commission from overseas voluntourism programme referrals.

A percentage of the profits are donated back into supporting the work of the organisations I have partnered with, and my viewers can take away what actions they can easily take to truly make a difference whilst being entertained.

The experience I built during my ‘Year in Enterprise’ has helped shape my future career, by enabling me to begin to forge the early steps of my career within the filmed entertainment industry.

I am currently networking with a selection of external production companies and NGO’s to acquire further industry experience as a freelance presenter and documentarian ahead of my plan to expand the team at Jamie Clark Productions, into a fully independent production company striving to document and address further social and global issues and help save our world before it’s too late.
