I chose to study Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University. The course introduced me to the importance of how data is applied within both the elite sport and clinical health domains.
Learning about how different statistical and biomechanical analysis techniques could derive actionable insights from physical biomarker data, especially within the live physiology and biomechanical lab settings, really kick-started my interest in the data industry. My course also facilitated the process in undertaking my placement year at Fulham Football Club within the medical department, where I was able to witness how data was used within a practical setting, even in live drills or physical performance tests.
