The Department of Mathematical Sciences is located in the Schofield Building, which is based centrally on the University campus and is equipped with dedicated resources for mathematics students.
As a student within the Department of Mathematical Sciences you will benefit from 24/7 access to state-of-the-art computer labs in the Schofield Building and also from our co-location with the Mathematics Learning Support Centre which provides students with one-to-one drop-in support.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences hosts a variety of seminars, guest lectures and other events that allow you to explore fascinating areas of mathematics. In addition to our Christmas lecture each year, the Department hosts the annual Sir David Wallace lecture that in recent years has seen such esteemed mathematicians and physicists as Sir Michael Atiyah, Cedric Villani and Sir Michael Berry delivering stimulating public lectures on campus.
