The Department of Mathematical Sciences is located in the Schofield Building, which is based centrally on the University campus. The building has recently undergone a £4million refurbishment to equip it with dedicated resources for mathematics students.
In addition, our students are able to get one-to-one drop-in support with the challenging maths you may encounter at university through our Mathematics Learning Support Centre.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences hosts a variety of seminars, guest lectures and other events that allow you to explore fascinating areas of mathematics. In addition to our Christmas lecture each year, the Department hosts the annual Sir David Wallace lecture that in recent years has seen such esteemed mathematicians and physicists as Sir Michael Atiyah, Cedric Villani and Sir Michael Berry delivering stimulating public lectures on campus.
