The university's staff and lecturers played a pivotal role in assisting me, not only in mastering the academic content but also in effectively managing the delicate balance between my career and studies.

For those contemplating part-time studies, I wholeheartedly recommend Loughborough's program. It's thoughtfully structured into module blocks that span a week, making it incredibly accommodating for individuals with demanding work commitments or those seeking study leave facilitated by their employers.

From a young age, my aspiration has been to become a Master Chemist. I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to have had the opportunity to pursue this dream as a mature student. Initially, my journey began with part-time remote learning at the Open University while simultaneously managing my professional career. However, my desire to immerse myself in an on-campus educational experience prompted me to seek the most fitting institution to realise my ambitions. After careful consideration, I confidently selected Loughborough University.

I pursued a 2.5-year journey of part-time studies, with the latter portion of my program featuring a substantial load of modules. Skilfully balancing the demands of my academic pursuits, my professional responsibilities, and my personal life presented a significant challenge. However, this ultimately proved to be an immensely rewarding and profoundly enriching experience.

Throughout my educational journey, my employer displayed a commendable level of support, readily granting time off except under the most urgent of circumstances. Their commitment in my pursuit of this degree was evident and deeply appreciated. I am immensely grateful, particularly to Dr. Managh, who consistently made herself available to provide guidance and support throughout the course.

My research project centred on the optimisation of LA-ICP-MS (Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) sample transport using CAD software SOLIDWORKS.

In the field of Chemistry, the range of topics is quite diverse, but my primary areas of interest were Sensors, Mass Spectrometry, Spectroscopy & Structural Analysis, and the Research Project.
