I chose to stay at Loughborough for my postgraduate degree because I’d already had such a great experience here during my undergraduate studies. The campus, facilities, and overall atmosphere make it an enjoyable place to study and live. I was also really interested in taking my background in psychology and applying it to the real world, particularly within businesses and organisations. This course felt like the perfect way to do that. It just felt like the right next step for me.

I’ve really enjoyed studying at Loughborough Business School. The lecturers are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly experts in what they do, which makes learning really engaging. They’re also very approachable, so you feel comfortable asking questions and getting more out of the sessions. The Business School itself is also probably my favourite place to work on campus – it’s a great environment with amazing views. It definitely makes studying feel that bit more enjoyable.

One of the best things about my course is how personal it feels. The smaller class sizes mean you actually get to know the people on your course and your lecturers, which makes a big difference. It feels much more interactive and supportive compared to large undergraduate lectures. I’ve also really liked the range of modules available, as whatever your interests are, there’s something to suit you. It’s given me the chance to explore different areas and figure out what I enjoy most.

The support from academic staff has been really strong, they’re always approachable and happy to help with anything. Alongside my studies, I’ve worked as a Student Ambassador for four years, which has been such a rewarding experience. It’s given me the chance to meet lots of people and get involved in events like graduations and open days. I’ve also played netball and been part of a female fitness society, which has been great for balancing studying hard with having fun. These experiences have definitely made my time at Loughborough more enjoyable and well-rounded.

I’d definitely say get involved in as much as you can. There are so many opportunities to meet people, try new things, and build your confidence alongside your studies. It really helps you make the most of your university experience. I’d also recommend making the most of the support from your lecturers, they’re incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. If you make an effort to engage with them, you can get so much more out of your course.

I feel like my time at Loughborough has really helped prepare me for the future. There are so many opportunities to gain experience, whether through paid roles or volunteering, which all add to your skills. Being involved in different things has helped me grow in confidence and develop professionally. The university really encourages you to take advantage of what’s on offer. Overall, I feel much more prepared to move into a graduate role.

I’d love to go into a rotational graduate scheme where I can experience different areas of a business. I think it’s a great way to build a broad understanding and figure out what suits you best. I’m keen to keep learning and developing my skills in a practical setting. Having that variety early on in my career really appeals to me. Ultimately, I want to find a role where I can continue to grow and challenge myself.

To me, ‘Progress with Purpose’ is about being proud of what you’ve achieved while still wanting to keep improving. It’s about setting goals that actually mean something to you and working towards them in a way that feels worthwhile. I think it also means making the most of opportunities and learning from your experiences. Progress isn’t just about the end result, but how much you grow along the way. For me, it’s about always aiming higher while appreciating how far I’ve come.
