I chose to study at Loughborough University because of its esteemed reputation in the field of Business Psychology. The MSc programme offered a comprehensive curriculum covering essential topics such as wellbeing at work, leadership and employee engagement, aligning perfectly with my career aspirations in organisational consulting.

Why did you choose to continue onto further study?

Furthering my education felt like the natural next step for my professional journey. I wanted to delve deeper into the nuances of business psychology and equip myself with the expertise needed to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of organisational consulting. Loughborough University's MSc programme provided the perfect platform for this pursuit.

What were you doing before starting the programme?

I was working as a Solutions Consultant and Customer Success Associate at an L&D firm back in India, where I honed my skills in client management, project coordination and data analysis. My experience in this role provided me with valuable insights into organisational dynamics and sparked my interest in pursuing further education in business psychology.

What do you love most about your course?

The practical approach to learning and the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. One of my favourite modules was 'Leadership and Performance Management' where we analysed case studies and developed strategies to enhance organisational leadership effectiveness.

What kind of support have you received?

The School and University have been incredibly supportive throughout my studies. From dedicated faculty members who provide guidance and mentorship, to career services that offer resume workshops and networking opportunities; I have received valuable support to help me succeed academically.

How do you find the social atmosphere/postgraduate community on campus?

It's been incredibly welcoming and lively, and I've thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it. From the moment I arrived, I found numerous opportunities to connect with fellow students through clubs, societies and events, which have truly enriched my university journey. Whether it's attending cultural events or joining in academic seminars, there's always something exciting happening on campus. These interactions have not only broadened my horizons, but have also allowed me to forge meaningful friendships that I know will last beyond my time here.

Moreover, taking trips during vacations planned by the International Student Office, such as the ones to Beacon Hill or Oxford, have been a highlight of my university experience. Exploring new places with friends has been an absolute joy, offering us the chance to unwind, explore and create unforgettable memories together.

How has your time at Loughborough developed your employability?

My time at Loughborough has significantly enhanced my employability by providing me with a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills applicable to consulting roles. Through coursework, I've developed strong analytical abilities, effective communication skills and a strategic mindset, preparing me for the demands of the consulting industry.

What are your career aspirations after your MSc?

My career aspirations include securing a role as a consultant at a prestigious firm like Bain and Company. I am eager to leverage my academic background, consulting experience and passion for organisational development to drive positive change and deliver impactful solutions for clients.

What would you say to someone considering studying at Loughborough?

I would highly recommend studying at Loughborough University for its exceptional academic programmes, supportive faculty and vibrant campus life. The University offers a conducive environment for personal and professional growth, with ample opportunities to network, engage in research and gain hands-on experience in your field of interest.

What is your favourite thing about being a Loughborough student?

One of the things I cherish most about being a Loughborough student is the picturesque campus environment. From the stunning greenery to the beautiful architecture, every corner of the campus exudes charm and tranquillity.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about student life at Loughborough?

As a course representative for MSc Business Psychology, I've played a vital role in advocating for student needs and enhancing the academic experience within my department. This responsibility has allowed me to actively engage with the student community, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes. Through my dedication to this role, I've contributed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for my peers.
