Business, Enterprise and Design (15 credits)
The aim of this module is to provide students with:

A Foundational understanding of business and enterprise structures, associated models and templates, when applied to the commercialisation of a product;A Foundational understanding of marketing of a product and how to present and communicate the attributes of a product to attract investment; and,To raise awareness of the context of their design decision-making within an International market and Global challenges.
Sustainable Product Development (30 credits)
Sustainable product design and manufacturing processes are now expected in the design industry, to reduce the impact of products and services on people and planet. This module introduces industry tools and practices that help designers design more sustainable outcomes.
Major Project Discovery and Definition (15 credits)
The aim of the module is to undertake and manage the formation of a product design project (to be completed in DSP859: Major Project Development and Delivery) from ideation and exploration through to design proposal and design specification. The module covers the identification of a design problem/opportunity followed by appropriate research then ideation, concept generation and selection, and concluding with an optimised product design proposal that satisfies an agreed project brief and detailed product design specification.
