Over the course of the programme, you will:

• Develop your intellectual, critical, and analytic skills in the academic areas of criminology, criminal justice and contemporary understandings of justice.
• Obtain a thorough understanding of the key theoretical perspectives and concepts within criminology and applied criminal justice, as well as the ability to use this knowledge in the critical assessment of social policy and criminal justice interventions.
• Progress your quantitative and qualitative research method skills in a way that is consistent with the demands of the discipline and the professional market.
• Develop a range of transferable skills including (for example) independent learning; oral and written communication; and working co-operatively to produce high quality outputs in an efficient and timely fashion.
• Develop criminological knowledge and research skills for the writing of a master's dissertation project.
