The Harry James Riddleston Charity of Leicester offers interest-free loans of up to £10,000, between 5 and 10 years to start or expand a business, or for vocational or educational advancement.

To be eligible for consideration for a loan, you must;

  • be over 21 and under 35 (although applicants who are over 18 may be considered in special circumstances)
  • reside in Leicestershire or Rutland, and conduct your business there (and must be able to demonstrate that the business has the potential to succeed)
  • have a real need for the loan.

Several Loughborough University students have been recipients of a loan in the past.

Providing you are eligible, you will be asked to attend an interview with a small panel of Trustees to discuss your application. These normally take place in February, May, August and November. Your application will then be considered by a meeting of the Trustees.

For more information and application forms see the Harry Riddleston website.
