Settling in

Moving to university can be daunting and for a lot of students, this will be the first time moving away from their homes.

If this applies to you or someone you know first of alldon’t worry, it is completely normal to feel like this as the transition is so large and there is a lot of support we can offer you to help you make friends and adjust to your new Loughborough life.

How can the University Support you?

If you are living in halls, the university has support within halls to help with this transition. Speak to your hall warden or hall welfare rep about the way you are feeling and they will do what they can to help. Second to this, the hall committee organises a variety of social events which is a great opportunity to meet friends and find what you like at university.

The university is proud of its student’s unionwhich also offeropportunities during the first few weeks as well as year-round. They provide a wide variety of opportunities for you to get involved.

If you are still struggling the university offers a wellbeing and inclusivity team that you can contact which provide a range of services including the Counselling Team, Mental Health Support Team and the Wellbeing Advisers.
