Welcome to Butler Court

Located in East Park, near the School of Design and Creative Arts and our rugby pitches. Butler Court is a very tight knit community where morale is high and there is a great social life. Everyone knows everyone! Butler Courts hosts so many events planned by the Social, Welfare, Rag representatives and more. The hall is named after Sir Clifford Butler, Vice-Chancellor of the University from 1975-1985.

RAG Representative

Responsible for coordinating fundraising activities within the Hall and engaging students in LSU RAG events. Key duties include encouraging maximum Hall engagement in RAG initiatives, planning and delivering hall-specific RAG events, attending RAG meetings and ensuring timely submission of funds raised to the RAG Office.

Theashigan Vijayakumaran

If I am voted in, I will work hard to make sure Butler Court will have as much participation as possible in every RAG event, and that each cause gets the attention it deserves. I am genuine and passionate about charity and supporting meaningful causes and I want to bring that feeling  throughout the hall.I will make sure everyone knows about upcoming fundraising events and understands why each cause matters.  I will also work closely with the RAG team to share ideas, organise events, and keep everything running smoothly.
My goal is to create meaningful but engaging activities that encourage more people to take part and help us raise as much as we can.

Action Representative

Promotes volunteering opportunities within the Hall and supports student engagement in community initiatives. Key duties include attending Action Hall Representative meetings, recruiting and supporting Hall volunteers, and collaborating with Media Reps to publicise Action events.

Amanda Christen

If I am elected I will continue the fantastic run of form that Butler IMS has been in, whilst also further developing the respective squads and getting more people involved. I will aim to further push the name of Butler Court as one to not take lightly. If I’m elected as Action Representative, I want help create a volunteering culture where everyone feels encouraged to get involved in a way that suits them. I want to create opportunities that are enjoyable, meaningful and easy for everyone to get involved in, whether you have a lot or little time.
I will promote a wide range of volunteering activities and make sure all the information you need is clear, easy to find and that there is something for everyone. You’ll always know what’s happening, what’s expected and how you can take part.
By attending all Action Hall Representative meetings, I’ll make sure our hall’s opinions and ideas are heard.
Ultimately, I hope to make our hall a place, where getting involved in volunteering activities feel enjoyable and rewarding for everyone.

Enterprise Representative

Promote and signpost hall members to Loughborough enterprise network events and workshops; build volunteer teams of hall members for LEN; organise hall events that promote entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills; attend enterprise meetings and trainings.

Marko Popovic

I’m running for Enterprise Rep because I actually get things done without making a big song and dance about it. I’m part of Enactus and involved in LEN, so I’m already plugged into the entrepreneurship side of campus and can bring useful opportunities straight back to our hall. My aim is simple: make sure we’ve got access to projects, events, and support that genuinely benefit us, not just tick boxes.
