Lifting Mood and Motivation Group

Brief Description: When we feel down, we can often experience low motivation. This can lead to us to do less and to get stuck in a vicious cycle of the less we do, the worse we feel. The session will look at this cycle and a technique to break out of it.
Student Wellbeing Drop-in sessions
Held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am – 12 midday
The drop-in sessions can be used to talk briefly to a Wellbeing Adviser for 10-15 minutes about your concerns. The sessions offer quick advice or guidance on mental health and wellbeing. Concerns may be to do with several things including life events, wellbeing, financial difficulties, physical health, or injury. We can talk through what’s going on and think of a way forward together.
Some areas in which drop-ins can be helpful are:
- General wellbeing concerns (including low mood, anxiety, stress)
- Course related problems (where wellbeing is impacted)
- To hear about what other support is available at Loughborough University
Your concerns don’t need to be managed alone. There are lots of options of support at Loughborough University. The Wellbeing Team are here to support you with problems that may impact you on your academic journey. The team may also help to connect you with another team or service that are better able to do so.
The drop-in sessions are at the Bridgeman Building*. You will hopefully see where we are when you come into the main reception area. Please speak to Reception and let them know you are her when you arrive.
Disability Drop-in Sessions
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 12.30-1.30pm (term time)
The disability drop-in sessions can be used to talk briefly to a Disability Advisor about your disability related concerns. The sessions offer quick advice or guidance on disability, including dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Long term health conditions and physical health conditions.
Some areas in which drop-ins can be helpful are:
- Registering with the service (providing evidence, understanding what evidence is needed to register)
- Disabled Students Allowance
- Exam adjustments in relation to disability
The team may book you in for a longer appointment if that is what they feel you need, and can also support you to connect you with another team or service that may be better placed to support you.
The drop-in sessions are at the Bridgeman Building. Please report to the reception desk to let them know when you arrive.

Life at University can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our trained and supportive staff are here to listen and to provide the practical support you need. Come and talk to us about your mental health in confidence, just turn up or book a one-to-one session.
