Early Counting

About Dr Catherine Gripton

Dr Catherine Gripton is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham and a member of their Centre for Research in Mathematics Education (CRME). Her expertise is in early childhood mathematics education, with research interests in early patterning, counting and spatial reasoning, as well as professional learning. Cath is a former classroom teacher with 3-7 year olds and she is an experienced teacher educator and leader of professional development. She works with a range of organisations, including the Department for Education, the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics, mathematics and early childhood associations, Maths Hubs and educational suppliers, and is a member of the Early Childhood Mathematics Group.
