Designing Mathematical Tasks for Deeper Understanding

If we want our pupils to develop fluency, understanding and the ability to solve complex problems, then it is vital that teachers develop the ability to select, adapt and design appropriate mathematical tasks.

In this workshop we will explore the vital role of tasks in the mathematics classroom where we will encounter a variety of tasks and consider how we might design and adapt tasks to help our pupils learn.
