Inter-Library Loan Services for other Libraries

The Inter-Library Loan service lends documents and supplies copies of documents to other libraries.

We have an account with the British Library Document Supply Service (directory code LB/U-1.) Payments for most of our transactions with other libraries in Britain and Ireland are handled by the BLDSS—this is our preferred method of payment.

Loughborough University Library is a member of CONARLS (the Circle of Officers of National and Regional Library Systems) and we make the standard Inter-Regional Unit (IRU) charge for loans and copies that we supply to other CONARLS libraries. For loans and copies that we supply to non-CONARLS libraries in Britain and Ireland our prices are pegged to those of the British Library. We do not charge for renewals of loans. Our prices do not include BLDSS handling charges or VAT (where applicable.)

We also lend documents and make copies for libraries outside Britain and Ireland. We can only accept payment for international orders in the form of IFLA Vouchers.
