Exhibitors
Stop by, say hello, and discover what’s on offer! The Summer Showcase isn’t just about brilliant research - it’s also a chance to connect with the teams who support you behind the scenes. From career planning and research tools to social connections and wellbeing, our exhibitors are here to help you make the most of your doctoral journey.
Library
Discover how the Library can support you and your research from discovering information, research data management, copyright, assisting with systematic reviews, help with getting published, and much more. On our stand we will highlight our on-demand resources that are available in Research Central.
Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity (SWAI)
Advisers from the Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity Service will be at the event, offering guidance and information on the wide range of support available to Doctoral Researchers. This includes support focused on wellbeing, mental health, neurodiversity, disabilities, and long-term health conditions.
Attendees can learn more about how the university supports student wellbeing through dedicated teams, including mental wellbeing services outlined on the Student Services webpage.
The stand is an opportunity to ask questions, explore available resources, and better understand how Doctoral Researchers can access tailored support to help them thrive during their time at university.

PhD Social and Support Network
The PhD Social and Support Network is a volunteer-led group at Loughborough University that brings doctoral researchers together through social, cultural, wellbeing, sports and networking activities. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive space where PhD researchers from different disciplines, cultures and backgrounds can connect, unwind, build friendships and feel part of a wider research community.
Our previous activities have included charity BBQs, guided trips, town visits, hiking and nature walks, pub crawls, sports sessions, art and culture events, game nights, seasonal celebrations, Lboro Fair, and trips such as Nottingham Christmas market and ice skating. Many of our events are relaxed and friendly, with doctoral researchers often welcome to bring friends, partners or family members where suitable.
At the event, attendees can meet members of the PhD SSN committee, hear about upcoming activities, suggest events that they would like and also find out how to get involved with the network. We hope to see lots of new faces at the Summer Showcase and at our future events
Loughborough University Research Academy (LURA)
Funded by a generous philanthropic donation, LURA has been established to help Loughborough University meet its ambitious aims to transform the research culture and environment, fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and collaborative research community.
LURA will support a step change in Loughborough’s research culture, enabling Loughborough researchers to excel by supporting, enhancing, and centralising the training and development support provided by teams across the university. This includes the creation of clear development pathways, both around specific skills and for more comprehensive career progression, to help our staff develop their skills, identify opportunities, and maximise their research potential.
