Visiting students and direct admissions

Applications for the following types of visiting students are handled by the Admissions Office:

  • Short/closed courses run by a School for an external partner or employer

  • Visiting students taking one or more modules, outside of a standard undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme

  • Students being admitted by a School onto a short-term research project

In the above cases a Visiting Student Application Form should be completed and signed by a relevant School representative before being sent to the Admissions Office for processing. In many cases supporting documentation is also required. Full guidance on the process and what is required can be found in the Visiting Student Guidelines for Schools

Applications that are submitted without a School authorisation will not be processed.

The Admissions Office is also responsible for handling the admissions for the following categories of student, which have a bespoke application form and process:

  • China partnership (3+1+1 and 2+2) programmes
