Dr Jyoti Gosai is a Research Associate on a UK Sport funded project investigating the impact of generational thinking in elite sport with Professor Paul Downward and Professor Chris Cushion.

Jyoti graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science with a Diploma in Professional Studies in 2018. Following this, Jyoti commenced her PhD at Loughborough University titled ‘On understanding the stereotypical gender bias within coaching’. After completing her PhD, Jyoti worked as a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology (Sport Science Department) at Nottingham Trent University. 

Jyoti’s PhD focused on exploring the stereotypical gender biases that women, as both coaches and athletes, encounter within coaching. In addition, Jyoti has also worked on research projects that have focused on the evaluation of coach development and education programmes for UK Sport and the Lawn Tennis Association. Jyoti’s research interests include women in coaching, psychological safety within competitive sport, coach behaviours, and coach development.
