Thore has always liked the idea of meeting international students, getting to know different cultures, and broadening his view of the world. He had also dreamed of doing a master's degree in an England.

"When I saw the announcement of the new cooperation in a Studienstiftung newsletter, it was clear to me: you have to take this chance and apply."

Thore was already aware of Loughborough University for its sporting reputation, but was impressed as he started to learn more about the reputation of the highly-ranked School of Business and Economics.

He was excited too by the campus.

"On the day I arrived, I was already excited about the size and the many different possibilities that the campus offers. In contrast to Germany, I find it very nice that all buildings are concentrated in one area and not spread out within the city. Everything can be reached on foot: whether lecture rooms, gym or dining options."

He is enjoying his studies so far.

"It's interesting content. Already through the first month of lectures and exercises I notice that I was able to understand and learn new content. The lectures are very well structured and the smaller classes give the opportunity to discuss topics in detail and ask questions.

"On my programme there are students from all over the world and I am the only one from Germany. This is something I appreciate very much. It gives me the opportunity to meet new people from different cultures and backgrounds and to build an international network."

Outside of his degree, Thore has been impressed by the numerous activities on offer: "Whether sports, societies, action projects or other activities, the University offers countless opportunities to get involved and meet new people. And there really is something for everyone!"

Thore is keen to gain as many new experiences as possible.

"That means meeting new people, becoming more fluent in the language, exploring Loughborough and England as a whole, and trying out many things I haven't done before."

About his plans for the future, he said:

"With the Master of Business Analytics, I am currently combining my previous bachelor's degrees in business administration and software development and would like to act as a link between the two fields. I am currently trying to find out which job is exactly right for me."
