Profile
Tom is a Doctoral Researcher in Mechanical Engineering at the Wolfson School, holding a First-Class MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University. His research looks at the tribodynamics of electric vehicles (EVs), focusing on how lubricant characteristics influence noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), efficiency and durability. He aims to directly couple highly efficient numerical tribological modelling with dynamic modelling of gear pairs, enabling more accurate dynamic assessment and, in turn, improved design insights for EV gear trains operating under challenging conditions.
