Profile
Omar is a PhD student focusing on soft robotics for rehabilitation applications. He earned a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. His research explores the design and development of compliant robotic systems, with particular interest in soft materials, sensing, and interaction with the human body to support recovery processes. He is supervised by Dr. Behnaz Sohani and Dr. Pedro Ferreira, and co-supervised by Dr. Khaled Elgeneidy and Dr. Sina Akhbari. His work focuses on how soft robotic devices can be designed, tested, and applied in practical rehabilitation settings, emphasizing safe human–robot interaction and functional assistive technologies.
