Mhairi graduated from Durham University with a MSc in Advanced Mechanical Engineering with a specialism in a medical engineering based dissertation. Masters project involved the development of intermittent compression socks to reduce the risk of vascular disease complications on long haul flights. The project focused on sustainable manufacturing and engineering principles to integrate the mechanical principles into a compression garment.
Prior to masters degree, Mhairi completed a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hawaii, where the Senior design project to develop a fully autonomous electric delivery vehicle for campus navigation. This project of which Mhairi was the structural lead won the Francis Rhodes Montgomery Design Award and selected for continued development.
