Background
Ieuan Phillips graduated from Loughborough University in 2021 with a BEng in Sports Technology, including a final year project investigating a novel approach and measurement method for subconcussive football head collisions. Following short term research projects as a research assistant at the Sports Technology Institute analysing football ball/boot launch parameters with adidas and Concave, he began a PhD in January 2022 at the same institute. Funded by the Football Association (FA), this project has wide scope within the football head injury research space. Before studying at Loughborough, Ieuan attended Gwernyfed High School, Mid-Wales, where he assumed numerous positions of responsibility within the school and community.
