With targets of 70 GW of installed capacity by 2035, large scale solar assets are increasingly part of the landscape in the UK. Ensuring that these assets deliver the solar power that is needed is not only a relatively new career path for STEM graduates, but also a developing field of interest to researchers in industry and academia. New challenges are arising in operation and maintenance of solar assets and new techniques and approaches are being developed to address them.
