Statement

Mary Yacoob's drawing merges different spatial and temporal scales relating to the body's experience of the healing process. The drawing was created in dialogue with Dr Karolina Dziemidowicz at UCL's School of Pharmacy and shows cells migrating along aligned electrospun fibres loaded with riluzole, a drug which promotes spinal cord regeneration.

Bio

Mary Yacoob is a PhD candidate at the Slade, UCL, where she is investigating how applying artistic practices to diagrams, in dialogue with scientists, can lead to new speculative, exploratory and imaginary encounters.
