Statement

My methodology became a physical enactment of the state that I found myself in. This process works as a catalyst through which I can harness my sense of place and identity. It is an appropriate technical way of dealing with memory and loss, using the mark as an increment of retrieval and its erasure as a metaphor of loss. 

Bio

Not responsible for her accident of birth, being born in Central Africa, losing her home during the violent transitions of Zimbabwe. Arnott won the Association of Commonwealth Universities Art prize for her drawing Journey Home in a competition titled ... a place in the World.
