Statement

This drawing is one of a series documenting a confluence of routines that inform my science fiction and fantasy illustration practice: life drawing, plein air painting, botanical watercolors, and the regular use of sketchbooks. They test and examine my retention and comprehension of observed phenomena within the constraints of a single drawing medium. 

Bio

Eugene Randolph Young is an artist, illustrator, graphic designer and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area, in California. He produces independent science fiction and fantasy illustration and comics inspired by indigenous lore, cyberpunk and Afrofuturism.
