Statement

For me the starting point for drawing is always an interaction with the physical material of graphite and paper. The paper is damaged and lined. I spend a lavish amount of time on repairing, polishing and excavating its surface , connecting the patterns of material damage with bodily ones: skin, muscle and bone.

Bio

I am a visual artist and tutor in the Fine Arts department of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Based in Brussels and the Hague, I focus on an exploration of the role of drawing within landscape, extraction industries and the aesthetics of climate emergency.
