Statement

My works address the complex emotional experience of living now. Method, imagery and concept are entangled in the work, which uses a laborious technique to reveal the emotive capacity of the body as an indicator of the impacts of climate change, while also enacting care through sustained attention and labour. 

Bio

Helen (she/they), is an artist based in lutruwita/Tasmania. Working in graphite on paper, their work is concerned with the intersection of large-scale social forces and the lives of individuals. Her research-based practice explores how the labour of drawn processes can lead to a reevaluation of attention as care.
