This collaged drawing centers the female body presented with 6 selected objects representing 6 generations of the female family line with layered language, a resistance document to suppression, erasure, ill health and poverty. 

Bio

Lucy Brennan Shiel is a multi-disciplinary Irish artist and PhD Doctoral Researcher at Loughborough University where her research interests are James Joyce's Ulysses, feminism and drawing as practice-based research. She has a transnational practice working between Ireland, where she grew up, and the UK, here she now lives.
