Profile

I am a Reader in Digital Urban Planning at Loughborough University, working at the intersection of open spatial data, participatory urbanism, housing, energy, and evidence-informed planning.

My research develops digital platforms, urban observatories, and data-driven tools that help policymakers, practitioners, and communities better understand and shape the built environment.

I lead Colouring Britain and contribute to the international Colouring Cities Research Programme, advancing open building-level data for more transparent, inclusive, and sustainable urban decision-making.

Alongside my research, I lead funded projects on digital planning, urban resilience, energy transition, and community wellbeing, and I am strongly committed to student development, doctoral supervision, and professional engagement with planning practice.
