Profile
I am an ARB-registered Architect, maker and educator dedicated to initiatives that meaningfully engage communities to transform the built environment, advocate for equitable spaces and social justice, and create inclusive platforms within the construction industry. Throughout my career, I have pursued participatory approaches to connect people and places, building resilient neighbourhoods by amplifying agency for marginalised groups, women, and underrepresented youth.
I am committed to acting as a bridge between academia and industry. My significant practice experience and research interests have a strong influence in my teaching role of Senior Design Tutor in Architecture in the School of Architecture, Civil and Building Engineering, at Loughborough University, where I advocate for making-led learning and inter-disciplinary programmes that connect architecture students with industry professionals and stakeholders on the ground. In parallel, I am also a practice-based Research Associate with the Architecture of Rapid Change and Scarce Resources (ARCSR) research group, where I regularly support MArch student live projects and research initiatives in London and overseas.
During seven years at Jan Kattein Architects, I led award-winning public-sector regeneration projects across London, including town centres, cultural venues, community centres and public spaces. My approach brought together stakeholders and institutional partners across sectors to deliver lasting impact. Clients include Westminster, Enfield, Harrow and Camden Councils.
My current practice focuses on hands-on design-and-build projects with non-profits and SME’s, challenging people to push creative boundaries and become agents of positive change. I work with contractors to deliver innovative play structures built entirely from natural and reclaimed materials, enabling youth participation in co-design and construction. I lead construction workshops, training participants in timber up-cycling and woodworking skills. I also regularly partake in inclusive construction projects that advocate for gender inclusivity and skill-building.
