The Royal Opera House Benevolent Fund

The Royal Opera House Benevolent Fund awards means tested grant funding to individuals within the Royal Opera House and those outside of the organisation involved in the production of opera, music or ballet. The scope of their work includes a wide range of eligible beneficiaries, including back and front of house staff, past and present employees and their families.  They are an independent charity, although they share the name and facilities of the Royal Opera House. 

In using MIS as a measure for calculating their grants to individuals, couples, and families and currently supports people with amounts totalling around £100,000 per year.

MIS has enabled them to calculate grant awards using a system that is up to date and thus encompasses the current economic climate and cost of living. They believe it is particularly helpful to see figures which do and do not include childcare costs, rent costs and council tax costs.
