Come and sing Fauré’s Requiem with the University Choir

Loughborough University Choir and Peckleton Church invite you to join them in singing Fauré’s Requiem on 16 July with a concert at the end of the day.

All singers are welcome to this event, whatever your level of experience, to work with members of Loughborough University Choir towards a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s much loved ‘Requiem’ later in the day (4pm). Other items provisionally included in the programme are Fauré’s ‘Cantique de Jean Racine’ and John Rutter’s ‘Ukrainian Prayer’. The choir will be conducted by Eleanor Graff-Baker.

The performance is part of the summer series of concerts at the church, with tea and cake served beforehand. There are no tickets for the concert, but the audience are invited to make a donation; proceeds from the event will go towards the upkeep of the church, with a donation to a Ukrainian relief charity.

Registration, refreshments at breaks, and toilet facilities will be in Peckleton Village Hall, along with some of the rehearsal sessions. The remaining rehearsals and concert will be at Peckleton Church. Please note that the church is a five minute walk from the Village Hall across a field or via Church Road. If this will cause you difficulty, please discuss when you book and every effort will be made to accommodate you.

The Choir will be working from the Hamelle/UMP edition of Faure’s Requiem, which singers can borrow along with any other music on the day.

To book your place, please email lborounichoir@gmail.com with the following details: name, address, contact number, email address, voice part if known eg soprano. Following this you will receive a reply to confirm your registration along with details of how to pay.
