Profile
Professor Lauren Sherar is a public health researcher specialising in physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and health outcomes in children and young people. Her work focuses on using objective measurement and epidemiological approaches to understand behaviour patterns of physical activity and exercise to inform effective interventions that improve population health.
She has particular expertise in translating research into practice, working closely with schools, healthcare providers, and policy stakeholders including the NHS and local government. Lauren is well placed to comment on issues such as children’s physical activity levels, the impact of sedentary lifestyles, obesity prevention, and the role of physical activity in long-term health.
